Vaccine trial in London needs volunteers
This is a phase 1 trial - which means this the first time it has been used in humans. Only 42 volunteers will be needed, some with herpes simplex virus type 1, some with type 2, and some with neither. So get friends/family/lovers to take part too. They will do antibodies tests to see if the volunteers for type 1 or type 2 or neither.
They are recruiting male and female, aged 18 to 55, to make about 9 visits to their clinic at the Chelsea & Westminster hospital, over a period of 24 weeks. When you get the vaccine, you will need to stay 24 hours at the clinic.
You will get a full medical check-up first: blood tests, chest X-ray, heart ECG, (illegal) 'drug test', pregnancy test.
They are giving volunteers a generous recompense for their time and expenses.
